Spoke to two customer service agents today (emails I sent yesterday) - they both assured my pre-order was safe for launch and that they are still just charging people - I paid by Paypal and she mentioned that it could be because they are batch processing Paypal payments from certain days at certain times etc. It doesn't sound like the customer service agents are really being told much about how the automated payment system is working. Stressful for us, but also stressful for them. I really feel for them. Especially with Lockdown and job uncertainty in the air. Please be kind to them if you do reach out! They're really trying!

But yeah I get it, I've still not been charged today and no number of times being told by customer service that they're going to take it soon is making me feel any less anxious and nervous (especially as I have a Series S on pre-order from Amazon (which I bought when I couldn't get an X at first) and don't want to cancel it in case my Series X order is cancelled...but I can't afford both!). Just have this irrational feeling that as soon as I cancel the S on Amazon is when I'll get the email from GAME saying they've cancelled my X, hahaha. GOD.

They do have a notice saying any preorders after the 24thOct may not be delivered on release date. So what you are saying would possibly be in their best interests. If they take my money I expect a console. If they don’t take my money I can’t really do much.

The only thing against that is they have been taking money in no order whatsoever. Some ordered in October and have had no money taken, others have ordered in the last 2 days and have paid.

I don’t understand the pattern either. It’s crazy. I saw an earlier post saying that a Game rep said ‘if the order details say delivered in X days then you should be fine and money taken soon’. Different banks and payment methods process differently. I’m optimistic!

It doesn't seem like its down to the banks at all though, it seems that Game are just taking payments willy nilly. I'm still optimistic myself, although I'll feel a lot better when the money is taken and I get my confirmation email

I got an order confirmation email, and it is appearing on the app and online. Though I do agree with you, until any money is gone or some sort of other confirmation I will be prepared if my order gets cancelled

You think? I'm genuinely not sure. Who do you bank with? I ordered on 01/11, but I've seen people who ordered mid-October and still no payment. Mine is showing on the app and online, I've just not had the payment go through or the "your order is being packed" email. I still think people's orders have been placed into random batches, and they are taking payment for a different batch each day.

I'm with First Direct myself. Yeah they can take payment up to dispatch date, but I'm thinking the last date for day 1 will be tomorrow as they'll have to be packed and sent on Monday.

When will I be charged for a pre-order? Funds will usually be charged to your card at the time of despatch, however, charges can be taken up to 7 working days before release date. Straight from Game website

I think if your bank declines it for whatever reason you can then go onto game a manually pay just keep an eye out for game emails or bank notifications

I cancelled my xbox but kept my plug n play charger. I have just had payment taken for the charger. Sso I'm wondering if they would have took my series x payment aswell at same time.. Never mind anyway. They made me nervous by cancelling those few people saying not enough stock. So I thought MS should be a safer bet. Any luck with your guys payments yet today.

So just been in contact, despite yesterday saying it would be delivered as scheduled; today they’re now saying because I have ordered after the 22nd I won’t receive it on launch, but I should receive it ‘not long after’. And that the payment will still be taken ‘in the next few days’

Yesterday, GAME was open for the people that pre-order in-store to go and pay for the order, because of the lockdown, I believe, many of them didn't go there to pay. IMO I believe we'll have another batch of consoles available. I order a couple of days ago, got confirmation, and shows on the app, used PayPal, the transaction is pending (like game must accept). They will only take the money if the console will be packed, I don't think they will get your money just with a promise of delivery guys. Stay Safe (at home playing Xbox guys). Let's wait for the best.

I believe a lot of payments will be taken today/Monday. And I believe a lot of people will get delayed orders as well. Mine says 3 days too, but I'm seeing a lot of people saying to ignore this date. If your payment is taken, you can expect the delivery soon.

I'm pretty certain that I'm not getting mine for launch now, but it shouldn't be too long after. If youve secured an order then they have the stock, they need to prioritise delivery for those who ordered before 24th though.

I spoke to Game to have them confirm my order. They confirmed the order was placed and processed correctly and is live awaiting payment. I would recommend doing the same so you don't have to worry about a cancellation.

Game canned their online chat and call center. Hence the awful customer service. Only way you can contact Game is via Social media or submitting a ticket on their website. Twitter is the quickest route but will still take 24-48 hours for a response.

Wow I've just realised how worthless reward points are. 880 points are worth about £2.20. So I've just spent £500 and got 251 points, which is roughly 50p.

I have just noticed that my preorder address is missing a line. It has my number, street and postcode so the delivery should be okay. But I don’t suppose anyone knows how to amend these details?

The same appears for my billing address on the pre order info, the first line of my billing address is missing. When i click on update details it shows the first line along with the rest of the info so i think it might just be a glitch on the pre order page if its happened to you too.

Tesco are saying the same things on the pre-order page. Stock to reserve on Tuesday with pick-up in December so it looks like 2nd wave of stock is mid December.

I must say I'm really disappointed in Game as a whole. No criticism of their employees/customer service, but there should have been clear guidance about these pre-orders. Payments should have been taken in order, and we shouldn't be 4-5 days off launch not knowing when we're going to get our consoles. People have asked questions and been given different answers, and my excitement of getting a new console has been replaced by uncertainty. It's all a bit of a mess

From a customer perspective I very much agree. But once I think of the current state of affairs the world is in due to the pandemic. I have to allow them some leeway. Luckily there are no launch titles😂 as long as I get my console before cyberpunk I am happy. But I understand that isn’t the case for some people. Just a waiting game now. Thank god for this forum🤣 we should so hop on a game when this is all over, on our series x’s 🤣🤣

Yes, I got that email also. That window between ordering and delivery is a bit too wide for me to contemplate at the moment. If they don't fulfill then you're stuffed in terms of getting it for Xmas present for the kids (me!)
