Their page is the best way- make sure you get a chrome extension 'Auto Refresher' so you don't have to keep clicking refresh by yourself. Set the timer to about 10 seoncd and wait for the pre-order button to show up, make sure to stop the auto refresh and then click it as soon as possible! This is how I got mine.

I just saw one by referring the page and I already have on in my basket and my payment details saved. All I need to do was to put my card security code in. And it gone out of stock by the time I done that. 😂

There are two ways it comes into stock, either someone cancels their order, or they release more pre-order slots, if someone cancels it then the chance of getting that one released preorder is low, but if they release multiple preorders intentionally, then you're far more likely to get one, so just be patient.

I pre-ordered pretty early in the morning on the 23rd and mine still says “in progress.” Don’t forget they don’t have the physical stock until the 8th-12th, so it definitely won’t be shown as “completed” just yet.

Similar here with the pre order. Which is concerning as someone that pre ordered in the afternoon on the same day (23rd) already got one today. I'm hopeful but it's not making me very confident with it.

What time did your order go through on 23rd guest574900? The think the person who got their today ordered at 1:30pm, I’ve still got one showing “in progress” from 23/4 3:23pm so I’m guessing they just don’t have those yet and maybe there was just a couple of extras knocking around that they’ve despatched early and the rest of us will get them starting from 1st May. That’s what I’m hoping anyway.

Fingers crossed! I did early on the 23rd, around 11 something AM if not mistaken, which is why I foundthat weird. Checking the stock history for the Neon on this website though, you can see that they had "in stock" 13:31, then pre orders from 2pm.. it doesn't have the time I picked which is concerning but it might've been from someone cancelling? In any case, fingers crossed. I saw that many Greys and AC have been cancelled, not many Neons for the time being. Good luck to us!

So I’ve been trying to get a switch for 3 or 4 days now and I finally got the exact colour I want (grey) and didn’t have to pay a penny over retail, over those few days I learnt I few things that (had I know them on the first day) could have meant my search would have been maybe only a day or two. So firstly don’t keep stock checker as your first point as call! Log into the website of the retailer you want to buy off, save your shipping address and sit with the page of the switch you want to buy open. You can of course split screen if you’re trying to get either colour, but I’d recommend sticking to your guns, picking a colour and staying with it. Second, get an auto refresher, this will allow you to refresh the page periodically without doing it yourself, chrome supports these extensions so you won’t need to worry about viruses or anything. I would recommend setting the auto refresher to ‘every 30 seconds’ or maybe every 10 while you don’t have the switch in your basket, and once you do have the switch in the basket, every 5 seconds or every 2 seconds if your WiFi will support it. Which brings me to my second point, the basket. You don’t have to do it all in one go, from ‘add to basket’ to ‘order placed’ will take a couple of tried and that’s ok. On your first attempt, watch for the grey ‘out of stock’ button to turn green to add the switch to your basket, do attempt to make your payment but it’s unlikely you’ll have time. Now you’re viewing your basket, you need to wait for the bottom little Red Cross next to ‘home delivery’ to turn to a green cross (make sure you’re browser isn’t still refreshing) and this will take you into the payment screen. Now you’re one step further, type in your card details and make sure to hit save, even if you miss out on this round of preorders, your details will be saved for the next time and it will make the process even faster the next time (do however keep your card with you, it doesn’t always perfectly save). Now what to do in the meantime, well if you’re a pc gamer and you have two screens I’d recommend gaming on one screen while having the item page open on the other screen, and I’d also recommend taking part in the ‘Macmillan game heroes’ event, it’s a 24 hour live stream that will allow you to have an excuse to be at your computer for very long stretches at a time while also raising money for cancer. Do however keep remembering to check the item page out of the corner of your eye. If you aren’t in the above position however, throw your laptop on charge, pull up the item window and turn on your auto refresher, watch some Netflix on your tv, play on your Xbox, play station, 3ds etc. And just watch the laptop out of the corner of your eyes. Make sure you check your WiFi is still good at regular intervals (I was caught out when I thought the page was refreshing but it actually wasn’t as my WiFi dropped out and I missed a chance to nab a switch) and ensure the screen doesn’t time-out, or else you won’t be able to see it. It is imperative you give yourself a day though, commit one day to this when you’re away from your laptop for the shortest amount of time, a saturday when you’re off work maybe? Or if you’re not at work at all (working from home included) just give yourself a day to do nothing but wait. This feels hard but having tired for 4 days to get the switch I made the entirety of my progress on the last day because I just sat and waited, as luck would have it I found the preorders were always open when I was away from my laptop otherwise. So these were the tips I found incredibly useful and I thought it would be nice to have them all in one place, remember preorders are random it seems so even if you just missed one, keep alert, the next might come sooner than you think. There is a possibility it may get cancelled. I had mine pre-ordered on the 25th and it got cancelled yesterday - you might be one of the lucky ones. There is nothing you can do other than wait until it says 'Complete' or 'Cancelled'. The ring fit won't go to waste! I'm sure it will go through, good luck

So they didn’t clarify why it’s showing as in progress, I would presume they can’t mark complete until dispatch/payment taken. However I did receive a response regarding the guarantee of a console after pre-ordering: “Thanks for getting in touch. Yes, your pre-order is safe and secure and will be fulfilled.” Maybe I can stop checking my Smyths account and refreshing now 😅

Just wait for an email confirming a cancellation. I ordered on the 23rd at 13:30 and got the cancellation email on the 26th close to midnight (I did have an account though). If it still says in progress then sit tight and wait for any change. They will email if it's cancelled, even if you don't have an account because you gave them your email at checkout 👍
